About Dr Sanji Fernando

Qualifications
After finishing his schooling at James Ruse Agricultural High School, Dr Sanji Fernando graduated from the University of New South Wales and subsequently completed his residency at Concord Hospital. Given his interest in complex chronic care, he undertook further training as an internal medicine registrar at Liverpool Hospital. To better enhance his paediatric medicine skills he worked as a senior resident in Paediatric departments at Blacktown and Mt Druitt hospital, before entering into general practice.
Dr Sanji Fernando completed a Masters of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) at the University of Sydney and has completed the Sydney Children Health Program to further enhance his paediatric skills. He spent one year working in Moree, developing his skills in rural medicine as a GP and hospital VMO.
He has always been passionate about helping the next generation of doctors and has been affiliated with the UNSW as a tutor for Indigenous medical students, a clinical skills demonstrator and Histology tutor. He has previously held an appointment as Conjoint Associate Lecturer at UNSW and continues to teach Medical Students from numerous medical universities.
